Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Visiting our office every six months for a routine preventive checkup is by far one of the best things you can do for your smile’s ongoing wellness. During each of these appointments, Dr. Tamara will carefully examine your smile and look for any signs of concern. This might include hidden areas of decay, gum inflammation, or even oral cancer symptoms – thankfully, this condition is highly treatable if caught early on! In any case, Dr. Tamara will always review her findings with you, keeping you fully informed about the status of your oral health. Following these exams, we’ll also perform a detailed cleaning of your teeth and gums, removing any built-up plaque and tartar and providing you with a fluoride treatment to re-fortify your smile.

Children’s Dentistry

Children benefit from routine dental care just as much as adults do – and setting your child up for a lifetime of happy, healthy smiling is something we’re more than happy to help with. From routine checkups and cleanings to dental sealants, fluoride treatments, and more, we offer a plethora of pediatric dental services for children of all ages to keep their young smiles on a positive track.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that’s found in most oral hygiene products, as well as many local water supplies. What makes fluoride so important in dentistry is the unique trait it possesses: it’s able to assist the enamel (outermost) layer of the teeth, re-fortifying it and strengthening it. Since enamel isn’t able to regenerate or heal on its own, this makes fluoride one of the absolute best means of protecting your teeth from cavities and other threats. Following a routine checkup and cleaning, we can administer fluoride treatment to your teeth in the form of a gel or varnish; this application process is quick, painless, and sets your smile up for lasting protection!

Dental Sealants

The back teeth tend to be at a higher risk for decay and cavities due to all of the grooves and pits in their chewing surfaces; these serve as suitable hiding spots for problematic bacteria. Because of this, it’s often recommended that children receive dental sealants on these teeth – however, adults can benefit from them all the same! Dental sealants involve us essentially “painting” a protective covering over the chewing surfaces of these teeth using a special type of natural-looking, durable resin material, giving them an added layer of protection from infiltrating bacteria.

Nightguards for Bruxism

Bruxism, commonly referred to as teeth grinding, is a condition that causes patients to unknowingly or unconsciously grind and clench their teeth – and it most often occurs while they’re asleep at night. Needless to say, this can cause damage to the enamel layer of the teeth; however, just as problematic is the impact it can have on your TMJ, or jaw joints. This condition can be mitigated with the help of a nightguard. Custom-made to fit your mouth, these oral appliances can comfortably hold the jaw in a proper position throughout the night, ensuring that no unfavorable contact between the teeth is made.
